It’s hard to believe that in just over a week so much has been accomplished and that we have now reached the point where Stage 1 of the project is complete. The main structure is in place and the larger portion of the original decked area is both water and weather proof. To say that we are thrilled with the results achieved so far is an understatement! If you’ve been following the build from day one via the Outdoor Classroom Gallery you’ll have seen how far we’ve come. It really has exceeded all of our expectations… and this is just the beginning.
Stage 2 of the project will involve the interior of the classroom and the provision of seating and lighting. Our original plans to replace the exisiting bench seating with an upgraded version have now been revised. Discussions with Headteacher Alan Cocker on-site revealed that something more bespoke and special would be required where seating is concerned and an upgrade to the originally proposed lighting scheme is also on the cards. Details about both of those features will be provided in a later post.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Jason and Liz for their tireless work in my absence last week, ensuring that the project was kept on track. It was reassuring to know that matters were left in such capable hands.
